Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, marks the end of winter and beginning of spring. The festival traditionally takes place from Chinese New Year’s Eve to the Lantern Festival, held on the 15th day of the year. The first day of Chinese New Year begins on the new moon that occurs between 21st January and 20 February; this year, Chinese New Year will be on 17th February 2026.
Chinese New Year at BYD South West
We will be hosting a celebration across all four showrooms in the South West on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st February 2026. You can expect to see traditional decorations, a variety of Chinese teas and delicious food, as well as a number of activities for visitors of all ages. You’ll have the chance to discover our Vehicle to Load technology with demonstrations.
Chinese New Year at Lympstone Manor

The Michelin-starred manor is celebrating Chinese New Year with a delicious selection of themed dishes and Chinese wines. The wines for the dinner celebrations come from the Helan Mountain appellation in the region of Ningxia, located in Central North China, which is renowned for its wine production.
The evening will commence at 7.00pm with canapés and some fizz, taking seats at 7.30pm in the Pool House dining area for a fun evening celebrating Chinese food and wine.

Lunar New Year at Penryn
Celebrate the Year of the Horse with festive snacks, colourful crafts, and a hongbao for each guest! Refreshments are inspired by Spring Festival traditions and served in a warm and inclusive space. The International Student Experience are hosting their event at the Intercultural Café in Lower Stannary, where everyone is welcome to take part, share their own customs, or just enjoy the atmosphere.
