How do we value your car?
You can use our online valuation tool to provide us with some basic details about your vehicle, we’ll then give you an initial quote based on the information you share. Alternatively, you can visit your nearest BYD South West showroom to receive a valuation.
We aim to provide a fair and transparent valuation process. Here’s a brief overview of how we determine the value of your vehicle:
Condition of bodywork and interior
We’ll carefully inspect your car for any dents, scratches, scuffs, or damage to the upholstery.
Mechanical faults
Any mechanical issues will be assessed, and the cost of necessary repairs will be factored into the quote.
Service history
A complete service history is crucial. An incomplete service history can reduce your vehicle’s value by as much as 10%. Regular maintenance records indicate that the car has been well cared for.
Vehicle mileage
Lower mileage vehicles generally have a higher value. We’ll take into account the total mileage on your car, as it reflects the wear and tear on the vehicle.
Desirable make and model
The make and model of your car also influence its value. Popular and desirable models are easier to resell and typically retain higher value.
Once you have entered some basic details, we will offer you an initial quote based on information you provide us about the vehicle.
Please note: If we find any discrepancies with the information you have provided after viewing the vehicle, for example with the stated condition of the vehicle or any vehicle documents, this may cause the final valuation amount to change. A confirmed price will be agreed once we are able to view and assess the vehicle.

Part Exchange FAQs
Our Online Valuation tool allows you to upload the details and photographs of your car in order to receive a valuation quote. The quote amount will be confirmed with an in-person valuation by our sales team. Including as many pictures as possible, including any damage, will enable us to give you the most accurate quote. Or, visit your local showroom to receive your valuation.
Not at all. We are happy to take vehicles from any manufacturer and to use these as collateral towards your next BYD purchase.
Not necessarily, however you could get a higher valuation for a vehicle that has six months or more left on its MOT.
