Modern and practical
As with all BYD models, the journey is as exciting as the destination. Commuting is no longer a chore when you have a vehicle as comfortable and innovative as the BYD DOLPHIN. The state-of-the-art technology makes driving a breeze, particularly the use of ‘Hi BYD’. What I particularly loved was, despite having everything readily available on the rotating screen, the BYD still maintains physical buttons for the most used functions, such as driving mode, windscreen heaters, volume, and hazards. The steering wheel also incorporates a number of popular functions, which is great for being able to control certain things without taking your eyes off the road.

Safe and secure
As always, there was no question of safety in the BYD DOLPHIN. Kitted out with BYD’s advanced safety features as standard, we felt safe and secure during our adventures. The additional driver-assistance systems came in handy too, such as adaptive cruise control and a 360° camera, giving an extra layer of convenience and safety, as well as entertainment for my niece who was more than entertained by being able to see the car from above while we parked. The integrated Apple CarPlay came in handy too, so she could see which Moana song would come on next (at her request!).
Driving experience
The driving itself was seamless and comfortable, the steady acceleration and regenerative braking providing smooth transitions between the different roads. The drive is quiet and soothing, even on the motorway, and its fantastic suspension provided much-appreciated relief from the pot holes and bumpy lanes that Devon’s B-roads are synonymous with. Charging was simple and convenient, taking under half an hour to charge from 30% – 80%, which is how long we spent in Tesco getting our picnic for our trip to the park!
