Lexi Chambers’ Journey

Lexi Chambers: From John o'Groats to Lands End

We can’t believe how quickly the time has gone since Lexi Chambers set off from John o’Groats in Scotland back on the 27th August 2024.

Lexi, an army veteran and former NHS nurse, is set to finish her challenge in Lands End in just two days, on the 10th October 2024, where she’ll have travelled over 1,400km in around 35 days, wheeling the equivalent of a marathon daily in her standard wheelchair.

Lexi has had a BYD ATTO 3 support vehicle, provided by BYD South West, and it has followed her all the way from Scotland to Cornwall!

Lexi’s journey is remarkable not only for its physical demands but also for the personal battles she has faced.

After losing her leg three years ago due to Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Lexi has continued to push boundaries, breaking multiple world records in her wheelchair. Her story is a testament to overcoming adversity and redefining what is possible.

The challenge has been known as the End2End Rugby Relay.

An admirer of women’s rugby, Lexi’s challenge has included visits to numerous rugby clubs along the route. A signed rugby ball has been passed from club to club, symbolising the unity and inclusivity of the rugby community.

This aspect of her journey highlights the importance of community support and Lexi hopes this challenge will shine more light on women’s rugby.

As Lexi nears the end of her journey, her focus remains on the causes she supports: the Aaron Lewis Foundation and The Exeter Chiefs Foundation. These organisations benefit from the funds raised through her efforts, making a significant impact on their initiatives.
