BYD’s Game-Changing Plug-In Hybrid SUV
We’re shining the light on BYD’s newest model to join the UK lineup, the BYD SEAL U DM-i.
The system includes a highly integrated Electric Hybrid System and a 1.5L Xiaoyun Hybrid Engine, available in two variants depending on the chosen trim. It boasts world-leading thermal efficiency and the ultra-safe BYD Blade Battery, specifically designed for the hybrid platform.
The BYD SEAL U DM-i in the Design trim (AWD) features two high-power electric motors (150 kW front and 120 kW rear) and an efficient 18.3 kWh BYD Blade Battery. This is paired with a 1.5L four-cylinder turbo petrol engine developed in-house, generating 96 kW. Combined with the electric motors, the system achieves a maximum power output of 238 kW and a total maximum torque of 550 Nm.
The BYD SEAL DM-i Boost trim offers a front-wheel drive option, powered by a 1.5L hybrid engine producing 72 kW and a 145 kW high-power electric motor, along with the 18.3 kWh BYD Blade Battery. This combination results in a total system power output of 160 kW and a maximum torque of 300 Nm.

The BYD SEAL U DM-i redefines the driving experience with its advanced Super DM technology, offering a combined range of up to 671 miles. With an 18.3 kWh battery capacity, it provides up to 50 miles of all-electric range, ideal for daily commutes.

The BYD SEAL U DM-i Design (all-wheel drive) on the road (OTR) price is £39,905 with the BYD SEAL U DM-i Boost (front-wheel drive) OTR priced at £33,205.
