BYD is short for Build Your Dreams.
BYD cars are a Chinese electric car company that was founded in 1995. Having produced a range of vehicles, cars, batteries and known for innovation in electric technology, BYD has become a prominent player in the global automotive and clean energy industries.
We’ve had no legitimate confirmation yet, but the BYD Seagull is potentially coming to the UK market as the BYD Dolphin Mini at some point.

BYD cars price start from £25,490 for our entry-level Dolphin model and our most expensive SEAL model walks-up to £48,640.
We have stock available depending on the model and colour you’re interested in. Otherwise lead times could be up to 6-8 weeks.
The BYD SEAL RWD has 354 miles of all-electric range while our plug-in hybrid, the BYD SEAL U DM-i, offers a WLTP combined range of up to 699 miles.
BYD exports its vehicles for the UK market from China.
The BYD company are in a more advantageous position as they don’t need to source most of the materials needed in production of an EV. The battery in particular is the most expensive part in an EV and BYD have their own battery supply chain.
The BYD Dolphin Comfort and Design have up to 265 miles of range and with a 60.4kWh battery, this equates to approximately 4.4miles per kilowatt.
The BYD SEAL Design has up to 354 miles of range and a battery capacity of 82.5kWh, that’s 4.3 miles per kilowatt.
The BYD ATTO 3 has a mile range of 260 and a 60.4kWh battery, so it would travel around 4.3 miles per kilowatt.
All BYD Models in the UK have received a maximum five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. The BYD Blade Battery has also been tested in rigorous conditions; it didn’t catch fire or produce smoke when undertaking the nail penetration test and left a raw egg uncooked when testing for signs of overheating.

BYD Blade Battery FAQs
The BYD Blade Battery is made of lithium iron phosphate.
The Blade Batteries for all BYD models are made in-house.
BYD has been a significant supplier of batteries for Tesla more recently and other manufacturers are expected to follow suit in the coming years.
We’ve had many people ask if they need to replace the battery after five years. The BYD Blade Battery is guaranteed for up to 8 years or 125,000 miles.
Known for their durability, a BYD battery is expected to last well after their warranty period. In fact, BYD claim they can do 5,000 charge and discharge cycles.
BYD currently transform old EV batteries into power storage for renewable energy plants and factories across the globe.
BYD South West FAQs

We charge £1.50 per mile for home delivery, whilst collection from our South West Customer Hub is free of charge. We calculate the delivery charge based on the distance from our distribution centre, EX5 1FG.
We offer outright purchase, personal contract hire (PCH), hire purchase (HP), personal contract hire (PCH), business contract hire (BCH) and salary sacrifice.
We are happy to take any vehicles and use these as collateral towards your BYD purchase.

BYD Accessories and Car Features FAQs
The BYD SEAL U DM-i and the BYD SEALION 7 are and will be tow bar compatible but we don’t currently offer tow bars.
No, not at the moment.
Not one that you can adjust. But it’s adjustable on the BYD SEAL.
No, this only comes into play with non-standard paint colours.
Yes, it’s one that you can put in and out yourself, you simply unfold it and pop it in.
- Surfing Blue is standard on the ATTO 3 Comfort.
- All colours are standard on the ATTO 3 Design.
- Ice Blue is standard on the BYD SEAL.
- Time Grey is standard on the BYD SEAL U DM-i.
- All colours are standard on the BYD Dolphin.
