Meet BYD Taunton's Transaction Manager
We sat down with Kelven Barbosa, the Transaction Manager at our newly opened BYD Taunton site.
Kelven joined the motor trade seven years ago as a Sales Executive at a car supermarket in Kent and moved into a sales controller position within a year.
He then decided to relocate to the South West about four years ago and began working for BMW in Exeter. Kelven was recently offered a position at Porsche in Exeter but was starting to find the commute from Taunton harder and harder with two young children at home.
The BYD Transaction Manager role came up and he decided to do some research into BYD.
He’d only ever seen a couple of videos online of the screen rotating but he soon realised that they were an up and coming brand here in the UK and wanted to be a part of that success.

1. Where are you from?
I live in Taunton, but I am Portugese and moved to the UK when I was 16.
2. What was your first car?
Mazda 3
3. What's your favourite food?
I wouldn’t turn down a Nata (Portuguese custard tart).
4. Which is your favourite BYD car colour?
I love the BYD SEAL in Shadow Green.
5. What do you like to do after work?
Give my undivided attention to my little ones.
6. What did you want to do as a job when you were younger?
Architecture.
7. Tipple of choice?
Thatcher Cider Rose.
8. What's at the top of your bucket list?
Go on an adventure with the family around Europe.
9. Describe your team in three words.
Enthusiastic, energetic, and ambitious.
10. What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
