2023 BYD SEAL Review

The third fully electric model from BYD to be released in the UK is the handsome saloon the 2023 BYD Seal. A true masterpiece of ocean-inspired design, the sleek Seal is luxury reimagined.

The 2023 BYD Seal is the proud winner of the iF Design Award, proving its superior design and innovation in the electric vehicle trade.

Exterior

Available in four standard colours, Ice Blue, Atlantis Grey, Polar White and Space Black, the BYD Seal is also available in optional colours Shadow Green and Indigo Grey at an additional cost.

The colour palette of ocean hues combined with the sporty elegance of the exterior create a fiercely dynamic look. The X-shaped front end exudes modernism and style, all with the driver’s safety and convenience in mind. The unique double U-shaped light clusters on the headlights are staggered, producing a stereo effect that allows the driver to see the road like never before.

Interior

The interior of the 2023 BYD Seal continues the refreshing originality, with its unique leather multi-function steering wheel design alongside the 15.6 inch rotating touchscreen seen in the BYD ATTO 3.

The full-length panoramic sunroof increases the sense of space inside, with the additional light flooding the cabin to produce a brighter interior.

The electronically adjustable driving seat with electric lumber support, position memory, heating and integrated headrest make it the perfect for comfort and convenience.

Technology

The BYD Seal is the first model to be equipped with Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology developed in-house, integrating the Blade Battery is seamlessly into the car’s body.

In terms of standard tech, there’s a plethora of safety systems that come as standard, and there are three driving modes to choose from: Eco, Normal, and Sport.

The interior is refined with a premium feel, which is enhanced with the double-laminated glass alongside the silent powertrain. 150kW charging allows you a 10-80% charge in just under half an hour.

Verdict

The BYD Seal promises to be a very prominent entry into the UK’s electric vehicle market, with the likes of the Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai Ioniq as its familiar rivals.

The safety, convenience and luxury comfort are a high selling point on their own, but with the addition of BYD’s infamous tech and development, the BYD Seal is going to be a firm favourite among those looking to make the switch.
