This month’s Meet the Team instalment takes us to MAXUS, to introduce you to our newly appointed Sales Manager, Mark Stevens. Mark has worked for City West Country for over 13 years but recently made the move to our MAXUS South West franchise. Here’s a little bit about him.
Where are you from?
Originally from Essex but I’ve lived in Devon now for 15 years. I can’t quite get the accent and people will need a translator to help with the Essex slang.
How long have you been working at City West Country?
In total I have worked for City West Country for 13 years.
What is your favourite MAXUS model?
It has to be the MAXUS E Terron 9 Double Cab. A fantastic drive and is a real head turner.
Most memorable day at work?
Raising £8000 to build a playground for sick children. I had to jump off a plane to do it. I also occasionally do a mean poem that all the staff seem to enjoy!
Favourite part of the job?
Making a difference, dealing with interesting people and building relationships. Also seeing my staff develop, grow and be successful.
What’s your favourite animal?
A great white shark.
Where is your favourite place to visit in the South West?
I like Weymouth. I have great memories as a child going on my holidays there.
What’s your go-to song or radio station to listen to in the car?
I do like a bit of Heart 80s or Capital Dance.
How many attempts did it take you to pass your driving test?
Second time. The driving school were obviously behind on their budget lol!
What’s your favourite film?
Probably Gladiator! When it first came out at the cinema, it was incredible. I’ve even used the line “Are you not entertained” a few times.
What’s at the top of your bucket list?
I’ve done a few already! Including a skydive and I’ve seen sharks up close in a cage. I would definitely like to do a safari one day.
What would be your karaoke song?
I’m still Standing by Elton John.
Tipple of choice?
You cant be a bit of rum!
First concert you ever went to?
The Prodigy.
What are you most looking forward to?
Seeing my daughter grow up to be successful, healthy and happy.
